Margaret Louise DeLaney was born on July 13, 1947 to James and Opal Pace in Huntsville, Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in the Class of 1965. She married Jesse James DeLaney, and to their union, they had one daughter, Nicole. Margaret worked for the Region VI Education Service Center as a Librarian. She moved on to work for the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles.

From 1890 to 1921 this site served as a place to circle the wagons and water the horses, as ranchers waited to ship their cattle and cotton across the country. In the late 1920's this Ranchman's Headquarters became the location of the first funeral home in Canyon. We're dedicated to providing personalized, professional and compassionate services to help lighten your burden and support you. As the new Owners, we decided to keep the Brooke Cemetery name in recognition of its history in Walker County. We have continued to make improvements in the roads and grounds and overall appearance of the cemetery.
